Taos Retreat: Off to the Land of Enchantment

Join us to get a special glimpse into the history, land, and cultures that make Taos NM unique. 1000 years preserved for us to explore.

We will gather for 4 nights and 5 days at the Hyperslow Retreat Center in Taos, NM, surrounded by the breath-taking and dramatic landscape of the high desert mountains. The lodge features classic adobe walls, high viga ceilings, and expansive verandas. Nestled on the edge of the Kit Carson Forest and housed in the newly renovated historic San Geronimo Lodge, you'll have the opportunity to walk the labyrinth, relax in the sauna, hot tub, healing room, tea room, sit by the fire pit, explore the tranquil grounds, and enjoy homemade meals prepared with love from our holistic chef. We will have regular yoga asana and meditation practices available each day as well as group activities including trips to the historically important Taos Pueblo and around historic Taos as well as a relaxing afternoon at OJO Caliente Hot Springs and Spa.

Instructors

Jen Frey

Jen’s core philosophy is that yoga and meditation should be available and accessible to all. She creates a comfortable, relatable and relaxed atmosphere with plenty of warmth and giggles. Her goal is to get you to try something new with a sense of humor. Her yoga classes embrace a versatile Vinyasa flow and are modified to suit all levels. Mindfulness, breath work and inspiration from the buddhist teachings are fundamental ingredients in her approach.

She offers meditation and yoga classes as well as dharma discussions, workshops for yoga and meditation basics, joint and back health, and is a coach for the Get To Sleep program for freedom from chronic insomnia. Jen is a teacher, mentor and a lead instructor for the Fluid Yoga School 200 Hour Teacher Trainings. The program is offered annually in Vermont, Massachusetts, Maine and Virginia.

She became the owner of Newfane Village Yoga in 2014.

Prema Agate

Prema teaches Vinyasa-style Fluid yoga at the beginner to intermediate level. Stretching is a fundamental aspect to her approach but she also incorporates some strength training and conditioning to enhance the practice. Throughout the flow she ensures a comprehensive practice.

Beyond just the physical postures, she believes in using yoga as a means to move deeper into challenging areas of the body that may not be easily reached through typical pre or post-workout stretching. The transitions between movements are also important, as they offer unique benefits for the body.

In her classes she encourages students to find inspiration from within themselves. She believes that everyone possesses greatness, and her goal is to inspire students to recognize that within themselves. Prema has completed her 200 hr and 300 hr yoga teacher certification through Triyana Studies.
